Screaming incoherently at them works for me.
It has the added bonus of stress relief.
I did that on Saturday after being phoned from an automated system 5 times - when I picked up and she finally spoke I think the conversation went along the lines of
"why the fucking hell do you think I want to talk to you. Go the fuck away" to which she replied "oh ok then"

be carefull with the asking them to send you a contract to look over and sign
I did this with one company and just threw it away with the rest of the junk mail
Turns out that 'according to them' by asking for to look over the contract i agreeing to join up and that on the contract it stated i was to write or call if i did not want to take it!!!
i then tried to call when i realised that i had changed over but they kept hanging up on me
so i just kept using them and refussing to pay the bill
They got a debt collection agency onto me and threatened to take me to court, to which i told them that i was happy to go to court and prove them to be in the wrong
I didnt pay and they never called again

I always ask cold callers to hold on for a minute, put the phone on speaker and try to keep them hanging on for as long as possible. When it becomes apparent that they are losing patience I explain politely that I've been wasting their time. I don't normally get a second call.

I wonder how many have been scared into paying up by this sort of highly illegal behaviour. Pity the boys in blue don't spend more time catching these cunts and less on harassing innocent clubbers.
