Is this the longest release on Pure Trance? The reason I ask that is because these two tracks are extensive, immersive and keep building. And I really do mean extensive.
At 12:15 and 15:56 respectively, these tracks really mean business. They're from The Digital Blonde and Deestopia. Deestopia have already been remixed by the Blonde in the form of Alchemy but this is the first time the two have joined forces and the result is nothing short of devastating.
The tune comes in two mixes: the Trance Mix and the Surreal Mix. Both clock in at beyond 10 minutes in length. In fact, the Surreal Mix is the longer of the two at very nearly 16 minutes but the pay-off is worth the wait. The Italian duo of Deestopia apply their touch to the track with The Digital Blonde, who is a legend in terms of trance music, taking control of the atmosphere and general landscape; bringing to mind the films Blade Runner and Tron: Legacy.
My favourite mix is the 12:15 Trance Mix with its energy and its poise. Given lots of time to build, the mix takes everything in and then releases it in a burst of light, an intense energy source that could quite possibly power a small town. The Surreal Mix, at 15:56, is more measured in its build and format; taking in an ambient opening before the beats, which are slower but still trancey, take centre stage. The Deestopia attention to detail, as evident in their remix of Xciter by Orkidea, is very much on show.
Both mixes are hugely expansive but my fave is the Trance Mix. Don't discount the Surreal Mix though because that also kicks serious ass. And would sound amazing on a good sound system.
