Liquid Bloom

» ReGen: Deep Ambient Remixes

Reviewed by Pete M / Submitted 29-07-20 15:18

Label: Desert Trax
Format: Digital
Genre: Ambient

Being into trance music, it was inevitable that I would discover artists that use trance as a way to calm people and to...get them to reflect and chill down. With this in mind, this is ReGen: Deep Ambient Remixes by Liquid Bloom on Desert Trax. While not really a trance album per se, it has essences of trance in its content; its more a beatless soundtrack if you like, with 9 tracks.

When you explore the history of the ReGen albums, you have to cast your mind way back...way back to 2002 when the first Liquid Bloom album, Shaman's Eye, was released. Since that release, the ReGen series has re-explored the tracks on it, in various ways, with some artists being given the album to remix themselves and other artists forming compilations with others.

Deep Ambient Remixes is definitely an experience. All 9 tracks are pretty lengthy, most clocking in at over 10 minutes long; that is apart from Resonant Migration and Ceremony Of The Heart. It is difficult to pin down one particular track as they're all pretty good and epic. If I did have to choose one, I'd choose the Hipnotic Earth remix of Jaguar Dreaming or the Eternell remix of Ensename. Roots Of The Earth is great too.

Seriously, if you're into meditation or yoga, give this a spin.
