It’s one of the most successful projects to take off in the shortest space of time. Since it’s inception in February this year, the Psy-Sisters collective has already attracted more than 300 talented female visual artists, décor crews, djs, producers and writers from across the world. Now the ladies are ready to celebrate the growing phenomenon that is Psy-Sisters, with a launch party at Vauxhall’s Union Club on Friday 17 May 2013.
With a carefully curated music program featuring a vibrant and powerful combination of djs and producers it will set the floor on fire – rock’n’roll style. We caught up with a few of them to hear about their goals for the future, and their thoughts on a few interesting subjects such as feminism and the whole dynamic of the so-called ‘djane’ . . .

HarderFaster gets its freak on with Swedish duo Ticon
Written by tom real on 29-04-13 22:30 (636 views)
Swedish duo Filip Mardberg & Fredrik Gilenholt met in 1991 through a mutual love of underground electronic music, they began producing together in 1995 but it wasn't until Digital Structures contacted them in 1999 that their path became clear and they founded Ticon. With a passion for techno, their sound walks a fine line between progressive house and trance giving their sound a unique, uplifting property that since their first album release in 2001, has seen them go onto tour the globe for the last ten years plus.
HarderFaster was lucky enough to catch up with them in between shows for a chat about their history together, studio production and their forthcoming show at this summer’s most exciting new progressive trance festival Noisily Festival.

Life’s a blast with Master Blasters Zephirus Kane & Pogo
Written by Tara on 22-04-13 17:57 (954 views)
Sonic alchemist Zephirus Kane and DJ Pogo are Master Blasters, their first album Life Changing Experiences on Nano Records (2011) propelling them into the heavyweight league of psychedelic trance live acts and onto the line-ups of the planet’s top festivals. But while the Blasters are just a few years old (they formed in 2008), individually they’re considered pioneers of the psy scene and for good reason, both having been involved since the early ’90s.
With Master Blasters headlining the Pan Galactic Space Disco presents… Aphid Records label party at Crucifix Lane this Friday 26 April and sharing the line-up with the cream of international psy trance at Pearl Festival from 23–26 August, we jumped into the cauldron with the psychedelic sound pilots for a kaleidoscopic conversation…

Banco de Gaia launches his new album 'Apollo'
Written by Andy Force on 10-04-13 15:38 (1112 views)

Banco de Gaia is an alias that is embedded in the fabric of alternative electronic music. 10 Albums and over 25 years of experience have culminated in his new album ‘Apollo’, an entire festival of world electronica packed into one CD. Apollo showcases the quintessential Banco de Gaia with an amalgamation of earthly instruments and penetrating atmospheric landscapes that create a diverse musical journey, inducing scenic visions from international carnival culture to breathlessly still dreamworlds.
It can rarely be said of musical works that they offer a sublime insight into a realm of something otherworldly. Apollo has captured and channelled a part of the human imagination that coaxes our creative being from its fortifications, and beckons it to breath life into the petering fire of human consciousness.

Piracy is not a crime – sail away with Feestgedruis!
Written by Agnes Klos on 28-03-13 21:47 (1501 views)
Feestgedruis is a booming party concept which adopted piracy as its ideology and ever since it has been constantly pumping beats and good vibes into the Belgian party scene. The name can be translated as ‘the noise of a good party’ and this organisation definitely knows how to raise the roof. Become free like a pirate, forget every day troubles and have fun as their motto states ‘piracy is not a crime’. The creators from Feestgedruis aim at entertaining and surprising the audience with unusual party locations, overwhelming sound and jaw-dropping décor. Their booking agency, Sweet Trade, is the harbour of the entire organisation and encompasses other party concepts such as ‘Kraken’ (progressive) and 'Thé Dansant' (day time).
Ahead of the next event, Sweet Fortress, headlined by some of the biggest artists on the underground circuit: Neelix, Guy Gerber, Marcus Meinhardt and Jef K, I sat down with the owner of Feestgedruis and Sweet Trade, Tom Reynders, to talk more about this electronic music movement flooding in from Belgium.

Progressive flavours with DJ R'Deem ahead of Neelix party
Written by Agnes Klos on 25-03-13 08:17 (2643 views)
Starting out at the age of 16 as a vinyl techno DJ, R’Deem, had mastered his DJing skills years before being introduced to the progressive psytrance scene. Shortly after discovering his new passion, R’Deem found himself playing at festivals such as VUUV, Indian Spirit, Tomorrowland and many more. Taking it a step further, in 2004 he introduced a new party organisation, Purple Snow Productions which brought artists such as Neelix, Ace Ventura, Symphonix and Ticon for the very first time to Belgium.
Nowadays playing with just CDJs has not been enough for R’Deem, therefore his sets are semi-live, which opens doors for creativity and brings more flavour to the sound. But R’Deem isn't stopping there; he's already working on his new project of deep and progressive house as Roscoe Deem.
Over the last few years R’Deem has broadened his musical horizons to Asia where he has had the honour of playing at the main stage of the New Year’s Eve festival in Thailand called 'The Experience'. This year was no different and after Thailand, I had a chance to talk to R’Deem just ahead of his upcoming gig at Sweet Fortress, with headlers Neelix, Guy Gerber and Marcus Meinhardt, brought by the Belgian crew Feestgedruis.

Trance Sanctuary Welcomes Solarstone
Written by Mark Landragin on 07-03-13 07:44 (3403 views)
The legend that is Solarstone (Rich Mowatt) left an unforgettable mark on the Trance scene back in the late 90s with his Top 40 hit ‘Seven Cities’, which went on to sell in excess of half a million copies. Since then his tracks such as ‘Solarcoaster’, ‘3rd Earth’ and ‘Falcons’ have firmly cemented his place as one of the main names within the Trance scene. In 2012 Solarstone’s Pure Trance concept was born. Aimed at pushing through the sound of driving, melodic & captivating trance music, his highly acclaimed Pure Trance album and performances have only helped Solarstone’s popularity increase even more. On Saturday 16th March Rich will headline Trance Sanctuary’s 2nd Birthday at Egg Nightclub in London and we thought it was rather appropriate to find out a bit more about the man himself.

Written by HarderFaster on 13-02-13 16:48 (186794 views)
As another year passes HarderFaster members have been looking back at 2012 and voting for who, what, when and where made the year memorable, whether that be for right or wrong reasons.
This year saw a higher turnout than 2011, but your votes still demonstrated the usual wit and wisdom, with Josie showing well for festival, and Zoology seeing mentions in many categories, including New Party.
Despite the increased numbers, you still have pretty diverse and eclectic tastes so we’ll continue to award top honours to those who were clearly in the lead and mark honourable mentions to those near the top.
