Stu Allan, one of the undisputed granddaddies of British hardcore...purveyor of the mighty Key 103 hardcore show and one of the DJs who mixed "Hardcore Nation 2"...returns under his Vista guise with "All Of My Life" on Nukleuz. Handling remix duties is Charlie G, who gives the track a hard trance makeover. There are two mixes to choose from; a vocal and a dub. So here we go!
1. Charlie G Vocal Remix
First up is the vocal mix. And its a mix that I think is fairly well constructed. Instead of the usual bangin' formula, he's gone for a more relaxed build up so it isn't so much in your face as other trance tunes. Does that make sense to you? I like my banging trance, don't get me wrong, but I found this quite relaxing, to be honest. The vocals are, however, quite cheesy. But that aside, its a fairly well-constructed remix.
2. Charlie G Dub
This is the one that is getting the most attention from me. A straight up instrumental mix, this one removes the vocals and allows the beats and riffs to flow and breathe. Although it does lack the spark that the vocal mix gives you, its the better version for me. In fact, this is a version that Ferry Corsten or Armin Van Buuren might play. Its very nice and definitely keeps you moving. Which is a good thing...cos you don't wanna be idle on the dancefloor. That's never a good look, is it?
Another biggie from Nukleuz then. Although they've been releasing hardcore tunes and compilations, its good to see that they've not neglected hard trance fans what with the JoBabe release and Hard Beat 27. More of the same please, folks!
