Age: | 46 | Background: | Jay's initial interest in DJing began at the early age of 9. Having waited patiently for his first set of decks he began his route at the tender age of 15 to become one of Ireland’s most popular DJs. After 3 years of solid practice Jay landed his first gig in front of an outstanding 1000 strong crowd at Club USI in Dublin. Jay held his own and locked down his first residency, which he honoured 4 nights a week from Wednesday to Saturday week in week out. He supplied the Irish crowds with their regular solid dose of hard house and rated Jay favourably alongside other Irish greats such as Fergie, Mark Kavanagh and Mr Spring.
Jay went onto earn further highly respectable residencies in the Emerald Isles with MIA at The Temple Theatre in Dublin on a Wednesday. Thursday saw Jay at Equinox in County Sligo and on Friday he donned the decks at variety of different clubs over the UK and Ireland such as Panama Jacks, The Voodoo Rooms, Passion, Euphoria etc. As Saturday turned Jay would be expected back by his stronghold of followers in Ireland for the legendary Space at The Temple Theatre, playing alongside stars such as Marco V, Anne Savage, Lisa Lashes, Ferry Corsten, BK, Scott Project, Mauro Picotto, Judge Jules and The Tidy Boys.
Most people would take the rest of the days to recover from such a punishing schedule, Jay however, more often than not would be found in the studio with writing partner Raff, producing for their own co-run label RaffdaGaff. The label is due to be re-launched at the start of 2004.
Jay went on to land the managerial role at Dublin’s biggest radio station Kiss 105.8fm, where he also hosted his own show, and became a voice of hard dance to Dubliners. This also led to regular guest slots on the two leading national Irish radio stations 2FM and FM104, which featured broadcasts of Jay’s live sets.
To outline Jay’s achievements at the age of only 24, some of his awards are a good indicator.
Ranked 13th Best Ever Irish Resident DJ by BBM magazine up against the likes of Fergie, Mark Kavanagh, Dave Holmes etc.
Won Best Irish Resident with 2FM in 2002 voted for by the listeners.

Nowadays Jay resides in London, treating the rest of the country to his flare and distinct musical style. He now plays regularly all over the country including London, Midlands, the North, Scotland, but of course returns home to his patient and adoring Irish fan base every month.
While in London mid-week Jay puts back into the scene what he gets out, looking after a whole roster of DJs such as Tomcraft, Scott Mac, Nick Sentience, JDS, Joy Kitikonti, Mario Piu and Electric Tease.
Jay is as busy as ever and managing to fit more in one week than most people do in a month!
After the continued success of 2002 and 2003, the year ahead, sees Jay playing dates at some of the biggest club nights in the United Kingdom. Jay plays the well established London club night, Riot at the End, Good Greef (voted club of the year by Mix Mag) in Manchester and the award winning Frantic, for their birthday bash in August. In Ireland he will be back at all the big festivals as well as South, Temple Theatre, The Met and The Oasis……………..
Jay hasn’t forgotten about the Irish scene, in fact far from it. Having been a key figure in the construction of it, Jay realized the need to develop the scene by establishing himself outside of Ireland to bring his experience and new music back to his clubbers, ensuring a steady flow of the UK’s finest DJs through to Ireland. Jay himself receives a welcoming hysteria when he crosses back over the shores. Their very own superstar DJ returns to share the new tunes and sounds with them! The local papers and Irish dance magazines keep the clubbers up to date with Jay’s movements within the industry. Jay is always sure to be laden with a pile of records to give out to the eager fans, sporting his honorable signature!
It has been sheer hard work, determination, drive and the love for music that allows Ireland’s premier DJ, Producer, DJ manager, renowned party animal and general multi-tasker to get where he has and he still has the whole road ahead yet…this is one guy who will be a strong pillar in the future of the dance music industry.
