Label: Appia Music
Format: Digital
Genre: Trance, Tech Trance
A brand new label from French based DJ and producer Mr Sam in collaboration with Black Hole Recordings launches as Appia. Not needing much introduction, Mr Sam has been flying the flag for 10 years with releases on labels like Magik Muzik and Black Hole Recordings and successful both as a solo act and as Mojado with Dimitri Andreas.
Mr Sam has setup Appia as an objective to bring new talent to the scene and to release all new Mr Sam releases, including his forthcoming solo artist album and the new OPUS Secundo mix compilation. Focusing on varied styles and not sticking to pure trance, you can expect lashings of techno, trance, house, ambient, electro and down tempo.
Starting things of is Mr Sam himself, re touching one of his favourite all time classics that was an original hit released in the beginning of the 90s. Taking you on an enthralling journey, the track starts with a strong build up into the first vocal sample that then charges the bass along with a thump for good measure, then stripping it back until some fluid percussion and delayed effects and atmosphere slams into the rave synth. Pumping up the energy levels from here on with a modern tech infused approach, but not overly tech trance orientated, the rave synth hits you again and a deep dark breakdown glides along into the full vocal sample and launches into an intensity.
Re-Ward provides the remix and after gaining the first release on Doorn Records and several top level remixes its no wonder to see why he was enlisted. Opting for a tech trance version and styling it’s packed with use of the rave synth from the start with a bubbling drum packed and loaded sound. Producing a rather dark atmospheric sound to act as the drive, it cleverly has an awesome euphoric synth that builds up and makes for rather a good journey to carry the track on and down a different dimension. After using the full rave synth the clattering tech dance really starts and you have a full release that simply churns the floor up.
