Welcome to Trancecast 18 with Kuffdam and Fei-Fei

Posted by HarderFaster / Submitted 02-03-09 07:51

Dave Pearce takes a break from mixing duties this week so episode 18 of Trancecast in association with HarderFaster is a double whammy of guest mixes from Kuffdam and Fei Fei plus the chance to win some copies of Kuffdam's new artist album with our weekly competition.

Thanks for listening to the Trancecast. We hope you enjoy it.

Launch the Trancecast in iTunes

Guest mix 1 - Kuffdam:

Kuffdam is a Scottish DJ and producer who has recently stepped up into the trance elite after signing to Paul van Dyk’s Vandit label.

As a DJ, he has performed for the leading brands and at the top clubs throughout England as well as playing in Ibiza, Australia, Sweden, Germany, Poland, Tenerife, Cyprus, Scotland and Lebanon.

On the production front, his tracks have received support from the top trance DJs including Paul van Dyk, Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, Judge Jules, and Dave Pearce who played Summer Dream on his Radio 1 Dance Anthems show.

Kuffdam’s monthly radio show Club Damage on DI.fm and the accompanying podcast has further increased his profile among clubbers across the globe.

He has recently released a brand new artist album – Network – which features seven new tracks plus three previously released as part of the production duo Kuffdam & Plant.

Over the next few months Kuffdam is due to play at Digital Society in Leeds, Ministry of Sound in London, Inside Out in Glasgow, and the Sunrise Festival in Poland. He will also be on tour in Australia and make his debut in New Zealand.

Track list

Karl G – Sometimes

Vengeance – Explain (Denga & Manus remix)

Sean Tyas – Melbourne (original mix)

First State – Off The Radar (808 Clash)

Super8 & Tab ft. Alyna - Delusion

Competition:

Kuffdam initially made a name for himself as part of production duo Kuffdam and Plant releasing tracks such as Summer Dream, The Ones We Loved, and Dream Makers.

Now he strikes out on his own with debut artist album – Network – released on the Vandit label.

Kuffdam’s years of experience behind the decks are reflected in the building of tension throughout the album which develops like a well-played dj set.

We have some copies of the new album to give away if you can answer this easy question:

Which international dj owns Vandit records?

Answers, including a full postal address please, to competitions@davepearce.co.uk. Winners will be contacted by email.

Guest mix 2 - Fei Fei:

Fei-Fei began her musical career studying to be a classical pianist before furthering her talents on the decks. She has developed a distinct sound fusing techno, trance, and electro.

While studying at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, she developed a large following at Club Red in Los Angeles, quickly becoming one of LA’s top female djs.

In 2004 she got her first gig with Godskitchen and played alongside Ferry Corsten and Judge Jules.

She went on to land a residency at one of the best club nights in the US – Spundae - as well as producing tracks signed by Paul van Dyk’s Vandit label.

Take a deep breath, because once Fei-Fei takes to the decks you won’t have time to come up for air!

Fei-Fei – Ender – (Club Elite/Armada)
