I recently changed my surname via deed poll... My passport is still under my ''Old'' name... All this deed poll is, is a piece of paper saying I change my name to so and so...

Basically can I just jump on a plane with the passport that has my "old" name on?? I literally havent contacted anyone to tell them otherwise, so would there be like a system where they'd see name changes and shit

either way let me know... wanna shoot off this friday x

In this day and age I would find it inconceivable that somebody could simply change their name and get round no-fly orders for example.

The different agencies will be linked and they will all already know your new name.

https://www.gov.uk/changing-passport-information

Read the first few lines.

Now... what is your new name?

It’s not a legal requirement to renew your passport in your new name straightaway. If you hold a valid passport, it’ll stay a valid travel document until it runs out, and you can use it to travel (in the old name) if you wish. You would just need to make sure that any flights / hotel bookings / visas etc. that you arrange are each in the same name as on your passport — otherwise you may have difficulty going through border control

No, it is.

When you file a deed poll change of name you have to legally notify all government bodies, the IPO (passport agency), HMRC, Royal Mail et al.

If you try to travel you stand a very good chance of being nicked.

Do not fuck with Her majesty's customs, they will stop you at the border and you'll be in big trouble.
