KYAU & ALBERT, the legendary DJ duo from Germany and founders of Euphonic records release their highly anticipated album 'DISTANT LIGHTS' on February 13th. The guys are also touring, visiting most US major cities in celebration of the album release.
Ahead of the release, HarderFaster caught up with the guys for a quick chat...
Who would you love to remix?
Ralph: We already remixed many artists in our career. In the last year we blocked all remix requests because it was important to take all focus on original tracks for the new album.
Steven: We will do new remixes in the near future, but cannot tell details yet.
Which country is home to your biggest fan base, other than Germany of course?
Ralph: We have fans all over the world and played in over 60 countries in our career, we even had stellar shows in Mongolia or Kenya. So I believe there are K&A fans everywhere around the globe.
Steven: Because of the size it is North America which we toured the most, when not playing in Europe.
Name a vocalist who is a really big inspiration to you.
Steven: Above & Beyond’s Zoe Johnston is one for me.
Ralph: Beside Steven of course, who is a big inspiration for me, it was wonderful to work with Neev Kennedy from Ireland and Adaja Black from Australia. Adaja was already featured with one song on our last album “Nights Awake”. She is also performing with us on a few shows on our forthcoming Australian tour.
What's the most fun thing to do in the US?
Steven: I like the mentality in the US. I have the experience that people are positive and friendly. If I were to look for a second home, it would be the US.
Which city in the world do you personally consider to be the center of dance music now, especially in relation to your own style.
Ralph: I think dance music is present in every major city. Possibly more in Europe, when it goes underground and with a variation of styles, but you can find Trance events everywhere, even in China! A few months ago, we had two wonderful shows in Beijing and Shanghai.
Thanks Steven and Ralph and good luck with the tour!
