Following an outstanding night in November which saw the inimitable Craig Charles bring his internationally renowned Funk and Soul Club to Jamm, he returns for the second instalment which is packed with quality. The night will feature Craig Charles who will showcase his incredible knowledge and thirst for funk and soul with a headline DJ set. Plus live performances from Yaaba Funk and Hazardous Funk alongside resident DJs Sir Funk and Mary Go Round will complete a stunning line up.
Craig Charles is an artist who has been in the public eye since he was 12. First known for his poetry, he has developed a career as an actor, poet, but most importantly for us, within the music industry both as a DJ and band member. He maybe best known for his BBC6 Music show, the Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show, which he continues to host every Saturday and this Funk and Soul club night is an extension of the show and has covered the length and breadth of the country.
Leading the charge on the live line up will be Yaaba Funk. Born in Brixton in 2006, this fusion of highlife, african music and funk provides a floor-filling extravaganza combining the
tightest rhythm section, fat analogue basslines, blazing horns, sparkling African and gritty rock guitars. Also performing live will be Hazardous Funk, blending a live onslaught of funk, house, acid jazz and hip hop.
With more resident and guest DJs on hand to take you into the night, this will be a night of some class so make sure you are involved!
