I posted this on FB and I have nothing more to add so I'll copy it here as well.
There have been lots of fine and fitting comments about Tracey and I can't really add anything more so instead I'll tell you a little story which some may know but many will not.
I've know Tracey for quite a long time. We were part of the same team which kept order in the Harderfaster community, not an easy task as Matt HarderFaster has already so eloquently divulged but after hearing that NFU hired hit men were coming to her home range to kill innocent badgers, she, like so many compassionate people decided to take action.
Knowing I had been involved for a little while she got in touch and came out with me for her first night in fighting the cull. That night we were abused and intimidated, targeted with IR designators, knowing full well that on the other end of that dull red glow was a man with a high powered rifle. She was visibly shaken and understandably scared but she didn't for one moment, back down. This was the start of something which blossomed into so much more (including a habit of falling in muddy ditches in the pitch black and having to be rescued by passing policemen).
After the cull she went on to face the worst of the local hunts, really sticking two fingers up at the wildlife killers and taking everything they threw at her, sometimes literally, I was so proud of her. She gained a new family of wildlife protectors to go with the amazing one she already had.
Tracey was an incredible person, asked for nothing, gave everything. We'll miss you and the ditches will be as empty as the rest of us
