» Rewritten Histories Vol. 5: 2017-2022

Label: Disco Gecko Recordings
Format: Digital
Genre: Electronica

Now, we reach the end, dear friends, of the Rewritten Histories saga...for now. This edition covers the years 2017 to 2022 and includes remixes from Andy Guthrie, Banco de Gaia, Sophie Barker & FastLap, Framewerk and more!

The full set of RW is a massive snapshot of what Banco is all about remix-wise with versions spread across five editions. But for now, lets concentrate on the fifth instalment. Each mix is superbly mastered and are from 20th anniversary editions of The Magical Sounds Of, Big Men Cry, from 2017, and Igizeh.

With two brand new mixes by Andy Guthrie, aka 100th Monkey, there's something for everyone here. These mixes aren't featured anywhere else and are totally exclusive to RW5. Although not every mix from Igizeh or The Magical Sounds Of or Big Men Cry are covered, they appear on previous editions so its pretty much a Best-Of series.

My favourite remixes are the Andy Guthrie mix of Star Station Earth, the two new mixes of Fake It Till You Make It and the dr trippy remix of No Rain. You really need this compilation and the previous four. But then I'm biased as I love Banco's stuff.

Big grin Thumbs up Wiggles

PS: The 20th Anniversary Editions of Igizeh, Big Men Cry and The Magical Sounds Of are limited edition CDs, are numbered, and are NOT available online. For more info on everything Disco Gecko and Banco, check out

PPS: If you haven't seen the tracklist for the previous four volumes, it includes remixes from Bombay Dub Orchestra, International Observer, Oliver Lieb, Speedy J, E.R.S., Jack Dangers, Zion Train, Transglobal Underground and more!
