Quick Fire at 28 Raves Later

Reported by James Condon / Submitted 10-06-09 17:07

Quick fire rounds usually mean run of the mill questions tagged on the end of interviews like top three tracks. Not for this feature though as we line up Lisa Pin Up, Rob Tissera, Technikal, The Tidy DJs and Caz Wood to answer 20 of the most random questions you never knew you wanted to know about them!

With only a few days to go till Contagious and Frantic’s HDS Present 28 Raves Later at Hidden on Friday 12th June we rounded up the headliners and got them to spill the beans on their deepest secrets. Expect surprises, weirdness and hidden talents.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

Lisa Pin Up: When I was about 5 years old I wanted to work in a launderette.

Rob Tissera: An actor.

Technikal: I can’t remember an awful lot about what I wanted to be when I was really young, but in my early teens I really wanted to work in computer game design, but then again which kid wouldn’t want to do that!

Sam Townsend: A DJ!

Deano: I’ve wanted to be a DJ since I was about 10, before that I wanted to be a super hero.

Caz Wood: A popstar or hairdresser!
Describe yourself in one word.

T: A cat. My cat precisely, his life is absolute heaven.

ST: A tiger.

D: A dog, I’ve seen what my dog does all day and I’d love to do that. All he does is eat, sleep, go for a walk and crap.

CW: A cat – they get to sleep lots!

What is your roast of choice?

LPU: Lamb

RT: Beef and turkey together please.

T: Turkey, but only because it means its Christmas!

D: Got to be a good old spit roast!

CW: Chicken – yum!

LPU: May (the summer is coming, yippee!)

RT: March – it’s my birthday!

T: June. Hot, fun, exciting, and my birthday.

ST: August – Summer Hol’s and Festivals!

D: It’s got to be August, that’s when it’s my birthday.

CW: June / August as its holiday time and the weather is nice!

Ant or Dec?

LPU: Not sure which is which.

RT: Neither, although they’re quite funny.

T: Which one’s which?!

ST: Neither.

D: Ant.

CW: Both, although Ant did go blind in Byker Grove so you have to feel sorry for him!

Chinese or Indian food?

LPU: Both are only OK, I mainly like bland food.

RT: I love Chinese. I have it three times a week minimum!

T: Indian every time.

ST: Curry all the way!

D: Chinese food.

CW: Indian all the way – Butter chicken…yum(this interview is making me hungry, haha!)

Where is your favourite place in the world?

LPU: Grand Canaria, Tenerife, Ibiza, Benidorm I'm not really a very exotic kind of girl!

RT: Australia.

T: Sydney.

ST: Leeds – haha!

CW: Saona Island in the Dominican Republic, it’s amazing! Or more closer to home, my bed (with Wain to cuddle up to!)

You could potentially be in the Quarantine bunker for some time! Other than your tunes and headphones name 3 other items you would bring with you.

LPU:
1. My husband, family and dog.
2. T.V and DVD.
3. Chocolate.

RT:
1. Sony PSP for music and games.
2. My laptop for work… and porn, haha!!
3. My girlfriend!

T:
1. My girlfriend Amz.
2. My entire studio (is that allowed?!)
3. A direct food link to the closest Kebab shop.

ST:
1. My Girlfriend (although she may kick off at being called an ‘item’)
2. Mobile Phone
3. Laptop

D:
1. Laptop
2. PS3
3. A space hopper

CW:
1. Phone so I could speak people (I’d go mad otherwise!!)
2. Laptop (I couldn’t live without being able to go online!)
3. Lots of alcohol to make the time go by faster!!

What other music do you like outside club land?

LPU: When I am on my exercise bike I have the radio on playing chart music, other than that, I like to save myself for all the banging tunes at the weekend!

RT: Everything But The Girl are awesome.

T: 80’s and 90’s retro music. Anything and everything from those eras really. After the party finishes at our house, the lights go down low and the VH1 classic channels go on!

ST: Anything and everything, from Talking Heads to Take That!

D: I listen to all types of music. Everything from Foo Fighters to Girls Aloud (when a lass is in the car with me, haha.)

CW: I am very sad and love pop music! I saw Girls Aloud at Wembley last week (probably shouldn’t admit to that!!).

What was the last thing that made you laugh?

LPU: I was in a changing room in River Island; I was laughing at myself but not telling you why!

RT: Family Guy. It’s so naughty.

T: An old TV show called ‘Mr Ed’. It’s about a talking horse but is filmed in the 60’s, it’s absolutely unintentional HILARIOUS - Youtube moment!

ST: A picture of a guy who has had a cats ass tattooed on his stomach.

D: Playing bogies with Emma in Leeds. We’d been to the movies and were walking across Millennium Sq. She started and I won.

CW: Michael McIntyre’s DVD – he is sooooo funny!

What do you think is the greatest invention in your lifetime?

LPU: Technics

RT: The Internet.

T: The Internet.

ST: Mobile Phones, cant imagine life without one.

D: Mobile phones, I couldn’t live with out mine.

CW: GHD straighteners!

Do you have any hidden talents?

LPU: Unfortunately I don't have one, I once spent hours getting Kym Ayres to try and teach me how to do a loud whistle, still can't do it!

RT: I’m not bad at golf.

T: I can play the drums really well, that’s all that comes to mind.

ST: I used to be good at Rugby, I’m also not a bad cook!

D: I’m an amazing cook!

CW: Sleeping – I can sleep for hours any time anywhere! Now that’s a talent haha!

Water balloons or a Super Soaker?

LPU: Super soaker I suppose.

RT: Balloons please.

T: Depends on the task. If going for an all out blitz, water bombs from a high point can be a fantastic tactical manoeuvre. On the other hand if it’s just a face to face gung-ho, you’d want a Super Soaker on you. Preferably a CPS 1500 or 1700. For the size and mobility of the thing, it packs a decent amount of power.

ST: Super Soaker.

D: Got to be a super soaker, have you not seen them bad boys.

CW: Water balloons – we had soo much fun with them at a Tidy Weekender once!

If you were granted three wishes what would they be?

LPU:
1. That I could fly, my best dreams are when I am flying high above all the buildings
2. That I could eat and drink as much as I like without making myself feel sick
3. Suppose I should add world peace in there, but sod it choice three would be to never ever have to stop DJing!

RT:
1. Make my parents live forever.
2. To have an Aston Martin one day
3. To have three more wishes of course!

T:
1. To be financially stable for the rest of my days.
2. To have a massive orgy with Girls Aloud.
3. And for my girlfriend to be OK with that.

ST:
1. World Peace.
2. That every body in the world was into dance music.
3. There was no such thing as bugs, I can’t stand insects.

D:
1. For world peace
2. To win the lottery
3. And for there to be no more politics, they ain’t no good.

CW:
1. To always be in love
2. To win the lottery!
3. To have endless wishes (has to be done!!)

What is the strangest thing you have ever eaten?

LPU: I suppose Shark but that is not very strange nowadays, I as said I am mainly a bland food person, a nice bit of fish and chips for me.

RT: Pigs cheeks in Indonesia – YUK!

T: Wow – that is pretty strange but I hear a delicacy in some parts of the world! Mine is pretty tame, I tried Kangaroo in Australia and loved it.

ST: I have eaten Chickens foot, they are minging! Other than that I ate a crayon and some playdoh when I was younger.

D: Frogs legs, but I’ll eat anything once. I once eat an earthworm, I was a baby so it doesn’t count.

CW: An ostrich burger!

Sum Contagious Vs HDS 28 Raves Later up in one word.

LPU: Fabulous!

RT: *******************

T: Quirky.

ST: MASSIVE!

D: Wow!

Government officials have released a statement warning that all hard dance clubbers are in danger.

There has been an outbreak of a new super-rave virus codenamed: CCWVHDS-120609

The origin of the outbreak is a top secret government research facility in the Cambridgeshire countryside where scientists were working on a way of controlling the minds of hard dance clubbers in an attempt to curb our way of life......but something went horribly wrong.....the virus mutated...and is now starting to infect clubbers up and down the country.

Health officials have called upon specialists in infectious events Contagious who have teamed up with Hard Dance Specialists HDS to form a nationwide task force to combat the growing problem.

A special quarantine bunker has been setup at a secret bunker location in London known as Hidden.

All infected ravers are being rounded up on the 12th June for special quarantine procedures to ensure that the virus is completely eradicated once and for all.

Scientists have stated that the only cure to the virus is to subject the infected victims to hours of the loudest and most banging Hard Dance Tunes, so a number of specialists in this area have been drafted in to help in the effort.
