With the awesomeness of Scarlett starting to walk on her own this week (such a proud moment) I guess the next 'big' thing to look forward to is her starting to speak.

I know all children develop at different stages but when did yours start walking and talking?

Smile

Mine started walking unaided around 9 months and properly outside at about 14-15. I seem to remember them talking a lot more not long after that, and it's all downhill from there. Be wary of comparing Scarlett's milestones or development to anyone else's too much though, they're all different as you say and the tolerances of what constitutes 'normal' are very wide. Sounds pretty standard to me though, hopefully everything's a bit less overwhelming now.

Oh definitely, its certainly not a comparable exercise and purely out of interest. But by the sounds of it, she should start speaking and saying her first words, hopefully, within the next few months. Watching her walk unaided made my heart melt and was super proud. Dont care if its slow or fast in terms of development as lets be honest, no kid (unless they have a disability) walks and talks by 3 years age so not worried but I just cant wait to hear those words "daddy, I love you" Must be a such a good feeling Smile

My sister doesn't eat meat but made a point of feeding it to her kids so they wouldn't be fussy eaters and could make an informed decision later in life.

Exactly that. I had to tell Penny's mom not to even think about filling her head with negative stuff about meat as she will be old enough in no time to make her own decision and will be a quick way for restricted access to her grand daughter. Her mom is vegan and tried to to take me on about eating meat, she quickly realised to keep her opinion to herself. Its a lifestyle choice no matter what your beliefs are, I respect it, just dont try and tell one of the worlds biggest meat eaters about stopping. LOL, I literally laughed in her face and cooked a huge, bloody steak on purpose Laughs out loud

Kira... Talking ridiculously early... Can't remember walking but around a year or so. To be honest I think she learned to talk just so she could order us to do stuff for her and not move. She was registered at school for being gifted in linguistics and she gets ripped at her current school for being so wordy.

Zachary... Ah boys. At least 14 months before walking, probably longer. He was a big fat jabba the hut. It looked like he'd eaten other babies. Took him a while to start talking as well... He's making up for it now. Can't shut him now.
