There's also a substantial number of new venues opening every week with markedly better quality.

Is there?
Where?

There have been a few new venues in various places but total figures suggest that in london there is on average 25,000 less people clubbing per week due to closures.

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those that could not hear the music -Nietzsche

There's plenty of venues to choose from that people haven't even heard of.

HF2s venue database has 804 (just for London) active venues that have had an event on within the past year.

There are literally thousands of other places that haven't been used for an event that could be.

So you haven't any names of all these new venues opening week in and week out to back up your statement?

Your last statement is bollocks as well, there are not a thousand venues waiting to be used. I know this for a fact because a succesful fetish night that I help with the music for has had an absolute mare finding a venue despite having plenty of money to wave about upfront and a proven track record for filling venues.
Most will have established events and music policies in place.
"Oh so you wont move your succesful EDM party on Saturday that is full of kids to put on a Psy Trance night..."
What will happen is that several thriving parties will likely never throw another event again. That will be a real shame.

I think it is fair to say that everyone on the Internet is annoying.

The one that is taking a lot of bookings off the top of my mind is The Steelyard or oval space

I think you may upset one or two very good DJs with that comment, if LZ means the one I think he does...

Hand in hand is the only way to land
And always the right way round
Not broken in pieces
Like hated little meeces
How could we miss
Someone as dumb as this

Dan does have a reasonably valid point though, fetish nights aren't exactly placed in the same bracket by a lot of venues. imagine if 414 did fetish nights Disturbed
