Not strictly a dance festival, but they do have three dance tents hosted by Resident Advisor,Bugged Out and the Hydra. So a mixture of techno and eceteric tastes. Also they have a main stage that this year had Thundercat (second rate jazz funk) and Charlotte Gainsbourg (mellow electronic sounds) for chilling out.The crowd is mainly studenty, young arty farty types so not ideal to create a good party vibe.
I was a bit disappointed this year, as last year they were able to use Cream's steelyard as it was already in Victoria Park.It was in Finsbury Park the week before and I thought they may move it across London.Unfortunately they tried to create their own version for the Hydra which was about quarter of the size, with little production and at times they tried to cram as many in, so it was a bit like sardines. Also they use Brockwell park, which is a nice park, but a couple of the dance tents are on slopes so it is not so easy to dance. This festival was saved by the weather, which was hot and it would have been a disaster if it rained like it has in other years, the tents weren't big enough to take everyone there. It was just about value for money £35 but I am unlikely to go again.
