Adelaide’s Kristian Molnar a.k.a. DJ Odyssey has been a leading figure in Adelaide’s bustling dance music scene for some time now and his contribution to the industry is widely recognised. He currently holds South Australian Dance Music Awards for Dance party of the year (Enchanted Forest 2 & 3, 1999, 2000), Promoter of the year (in conjunction with Paradigm & Ultraworld, 2000) & Best event under 800 (System 6, 2000) and at this years 2003 SA Dance music awards, scooped Party of the year (Enchanted Forest 5), Promoter of the year (Enchanted Forest crew) and Overall DJ of the year.
The scene in Australia is definitely booming at the moment, Hard dance has taken over all the clubs, the crowds are always up for it and all the dance parties are attracting huge crowds with the right attitudes. Odyssey is a resident every Saturday and Thursday night’s at the best rave club’s in Adelaide, Chemistry (Heaven) and Kinetic (St Pauls), He plays guest spots at all the touring club nights (Ministry of sound, Perfecto) as well as monthly residencies at System 6 (Adelaide) and Ultraworld (Adelaide).
Odyssey is regularly flown interstate to perform and his fast and Furious, action packed sets have seen him play as far afield as the UK (Frantic @ Camden Palace, Solid Sunday @ the old mean fiddler, Seratonin @ po na na theatre, Swindon, Cyberdog @ Camden markets, Logic after party @ George IV, Mr Whippy at Club M, Breathe in Cardiff, Finland (Gloriaa @ Helsinki), Tokyo - Japan (Jumpin Disco @ Code, Planet Love @ Velfarre & Code @ Code), Brisbane (System 6, Advent*jah), Melbourne (Hard Kandy, Frantic, Bubble), Darwin (Time Nightclub), Sydney (Frantic, Clash of the titans), Perth (System 6, Storm), Canberra (Habana) and as far afield as Country Mildura, Mt Gambier, Pt Augusta, Bumbury & Margaret river.
Odyssey also has 5 tunes released on UK labels, Dynamix (Turbulence with K-complex, Devious, Submission & It’s Rocking by Odyssey & Kevin Energy) and Mohawk (System 6 with Chris C and Dave Nation) both released in June and has just finished another 4 tunes, 2 for Madam zu’s nile records, another for Kevin energy’s Dynamix (It’s Rockin ) and a remix for Australia’s own Nil & Tracy (Tokyo 2051) with Adelaide's own Systembot.
rapidly forming a strong following in his home town & playing every major event and club night in Adelaide this year, System 6 & Enchanted Crew, Odyssey's production companys have been responsible for some of the biggest parties in Adelaide’s history, such as Enchanted forest 1 - 5, Strawberry field's 1,2, Once upon a time 1,2, Atomic energy 1-3, Adrenalin, System 6 & Nrgize and even the occasional Ultraworld and many more. He has also been responsible for touring act's such as Karim (UK), RR Fierce (UK), Chris C & Madam Zu (UK), Kristian (UK), Kevin Energy (UK), Daniel Ro (UK), Mobi D (UK), Mark Tyler (UK), Paul Glazby (UK), Sharkey (UK), Karri K (Fin), Simon Eve (UK) with many more in the pipeline.
