Pitch Black. A duo from New Zealand. Not much going on in that intro there but bear with me. This band have released a number of albums and remix albums on Remote Control and Dubmission, the most recent being Filtered Senses. And now, indeed, we have the remix album of Filtered Senses. Ten remixes from International Observer, Simon Flowers, Radioactive Man and Crises amongst others.
Stylistically, the sound ranges from tripped-out dub, blissful techno and ambient soundscapes. Tom Cosm does an epic burnout of Without The Trees, Alpha Steppa re-rubs the final track, "Its The Future Knocking", which gets two remixes on here; the first being remixed by International Observer.
My favourite track on the album is the Radioactive Man remix of Circuit Bent, a techno re-rub that pulses and cracks over a nice groovy landscape. Mind you, Tom Cosm's Twitch Itch mix of "Without The Trees" also rocks my boat.
Interesting stuff this.
