What would you do?
Evict people or overul that bit of the Green belt?

Evict them.

Green belt land is highly controlled. If you allow one group to get away with it then you unleash untold trouble. A precident is set.

Ever wondered why there are so few service stations round the M25?

People are more important than a green belt.
In a human court of law that would be the verdict.
This obviously would be the only exception to the rule.

might aswell keep them there, dont matter does it, dont bother us

It bothers those living next to them. How many of these "travellers" don't destroy the area they live in?

In normal situations once you have purchased a land you are by law the land owner.
Those who sold the land to them are the one to blame not the gypsies.

Deportation to where?
I mean one mistake is enough..we can't have another Palestine/Israel situation again. That would be called a 'Double Bluff' and will end in tears.

Back to Ireland or wherever they came from.

It's not as though they havn't been offered other places to go.

They are not above the law. They knew they were illegally living there and would have known that one day it would come to this.

From personal experience when travellers decide to invade somne green space locally. They destroy the area they have invaded. Go looking for people to rip off, beat up, steal stuff. They once camped next to the gym I used to train at. Found the kids looking into the cars parked outside, including mine, for stuff to nick. They used to abuse us when we drove past. One bloke had his windows smashed while he was in the car. Sorry but I can't stand these people.

Just imagine what it's like living next to that place?

land is sold with certain covernants in place. The gypsies who bought it would ahve known this.

If I buy a field with no permission for a dwelling then put a dwelling on it. Who's fault is it then?

If these people are so important to you why don't you take a couple in as lodgers, rent free.
