Even if brexit is the right idea the vote wasn't done for the right reasons at the right time and with the right arguments and it certainly isn't in the hands of the right people on either side.

And yet it still may prove to be the better alternative to being in a Federal Europe in the long run.

Well, that depends on your definition of long run, probably not in the time between now and me retiring and after that is anyones guess in all honesty.

This Huge New Study Reveals What The British Public Really Want From Brexit
August 2017

Quote:
A groundbreaking project by the London School of Economics and Oxford University surveying more than 3,000 people – which BuzzFeed News has seen exclusively ahead of its official publication – reveals that when the British public are asked in detail what they want from the negotiations, there is more support for harder Brexit options because Leavers and a significant number of Remainers back them.

Quote:
These results indicate that despite the impression given across the press and from politicians of a deeply divided nation, when voters think of the actual details of what they want from Brexit, neither group is that distinct – and generally they lean towards a harder Brexit.

The key lines of division remain over immigration, the ECJ, and the fate of EU citizens in the UK – but for politicians hoping to secure a soft Brexit, or even to stall the process, the research suggests they will have to win over hearts and minds quickly.

Surprising results, but perhaps understandable with Junker and co putting their oar in.

3,000 is a fairly small pool TBH and while Junker would definitely have tat effect I think blaming him is giving the majority of british too much credit for even knowing who he is.

It's a pretty big poll by usual standards and the largest by respected researchers we've had in a long while.

Sadly I can't find it reported in many mainstream media outlets, City AM, Spectator and Telegraph are notable exceptions.

I guess they just don't want to know what people think, that leaves them free to make any assertions or claims they fancy, because it's the will of the people 'n all and this, that or the other. Innit!

Another poll I can think of was the one done by Lord Ashcroft shortly after the Referendum, that was 12000+ people and showed that immigration wasn't the main factor in people voting leave.
