I do pretty much the same when i'm getting new tunes or have a lot of random new ones, although not at the same life-sapping rate as Sketchy. A bit at the start, then a flick through to various points where I'd expect something if its what I want. I can easily do this and make my mind up in 15-20 seconds.

Most DJs do this

Not in 1.8 seconds

Robochick.

I thought Technics sold the rights of their turntables to Pioneer? Clearly not. I don't understand how Pioneer can make turntables so similar in design though. Maybe they are paying Technics a percentage on each turntable sold?

Crazy regarding vinyl sales! I don't however see the clubbing world changing their mind to widely ditch vinyl though. It's certainly a finished standard as far as club standard goes.

No that never happened. All producers of decks Numark/Denon/etc tried to emulate Technics in look and feel. You could argue that cheaper TV companies are trying to look similar to bigger names... A TV is a TV... A deck is a deck. You can't make them look that different.

I've shown you how I scan my tracks. I don't just listen to one section, I scan just about the whole track. Just I can hear very early on if it has the sound I'm going for or not.

You really need to keep on top of your lies.

I generally go from the beginning of the track, to the end. Just I flick through it! I tend to only get as far as half way through if I really like/really don't like a track.
