I, on the other hand, think a grand is fucking crazy money to spend on a pram.

I thought you was all for parents spending ridiculous amounts on their children.

Absolute Fact

Not ridiculous amounts, no. You can buy decent stuff for a fraction of some of the prices bandied about.

According to Donnie though it wasn't unusual to spank £300 down the pub over the course of as weekend! An expensive pram Doesn't seem quite so unreasonable in that context.

Yeah, I know Donnie's a big spender*, but for the average joe, a grand is a lot to spank on anything. The average joe doesn't have £300 to spunk in the pub every weekend either.

*I don't mean that as an insult, btw Smile

Exactly, before you know it, 0-3 months is out, and its 3-6 months, then 6-9 and so forth and the existing clothes are still brand new. Luckily baby S arrives in May so the first 6 months will be summer months so no need for tonnes of clothes.

Wherever we can save, that money will go into Baby S's saving fund/bank account Smile

Bear's approach is better and more financially sensible; feed and clothe her for the first year and then up the chimney/into the sweatshop she goes. Ching ching!

Ah, that would be why they built the fireplace before having the kid. Forward planning. Idea

That's their problem, not mine.

And I'm not a big spender at all.
