No you dont always get a prescription, but if you are going, then theres probably a high probability that you expect some sort of treatment, which is also fairly highly probable to be in the form of some sort of prescription - so theoretically, most people that go to their GP have the thought that they may have to pay for a prescription afterwards.
People pay for NHS dentists, how would this be any different
