Last night I endured the worst night of clubbing I have ever had the misfortune to experience.
The Frantic Easter Ball.
The evening started in true Frantic style, with myself and my partner not being on the guest list as promised.
The Becomeone room (the only reason I'd decided to attend in the first place) was not opened until almost two hours after the advertised time, giving the first two DJ's three tunes between them. By Dom Pardeys set, we were treated to two interuptions from a fat retard who decided to try his hand at dancing on the decks, for which he got a "bit of a telling off" from the bouncer. Security were also made aware of constant sexual harrassment of a number of women in the room by a group of socially inadeqate individuals, which they decided to deal with by doing precisely nothing.
After Dom's set, we were treated to a set that began about 100bpm off the point that Dom had left things at, this was slowed down after a few minutes when it appeared the DJ needed to be told he was playing Hard Industrial House in the Trance Room.
Throughout the night, there was far less seating than was needed, with hundreds of people sitting on the floor, blocking corridors and rooms, making it impossible to go between rooms, or to the toilets which were more remote than an South Atlantic weather station.
The general conduct of the average punter on the night was appalling, most of them seemingly bused in from a centre for the socially retarded. Presumably some correctional facility was overcrowded for the night, and Frantic decided to offer them overnight accomodation at extortionate cost to the taxpayer.
I actually witnessed brutal treatment of one skinny little clubber, who, regardless of what he had done, was in no way likely to be able to defend himself, against the huge, very agressive bouncer that literally threw him out of the door, and then continued to assault him outside the door, in full view of a large number of us.
It became completely obvious that nobody from Frantic was in the slightest bit interested in entertaining, or protecting the safety of the clubbers once they had paid their money. In fact, it would appear that Frantic had actually attempted to fill the venue with any kind of low-life that happened to stroll by, and had a few quid to spend over the bar.
I've been clubbing for over four years, on both sides of the world, and have yet to witness such an awful display of customer care from a promotion as I saw last night.
Myself and my friends have decided that we will never be attending a Frantic event again. They do not deserve our money or our patronage, and I hope this message will help others who have yet to go to such a night, save their money for something that might actually come close to "entertainment".
