Promotion wise this festival got off to a bad start on the Saturday with the publicised three hour queues to get in and the rush on the gates.I went on the Sunday(this is normally the best day to go anyway)when they got their act together and I went straight in,no queues to a pretty much sold out festival. The much hated promoter (on this site) Reece had made a few other mistakes,he had replaced all the big tops with more flimsy structures, which are good if it is sunny (but this cannot be guaranteed)but not much good if there is wind or rain. One flimsy stage(Abode stage)seemed to have collapsed and was out of use.The main stage is covered and has good production levels, when it is in full use it gives Cream's steelyard a run for its money. This year Resistance were the promoters on this stage which can be a slightly heavier techno than most of the crowd can handle. The crowd is young and posers and it is difficult to get this type of crowd going. The DJ before Ben Clock was pretty good really banging it out, alot were forced into the tent to listen to techno when it rained and at this point the production levels were going full steam ahead,it did go off for a while until Clock came on (who I think is totally unsuitable for the type of crowd that go).Never the less this is still my favourite one day dance festival in the London area.
