» Exhibition V

Reviewed by Pete M / Submitted 30-01-23 18:23

Label: Lost Language
Format: Digital
Genre: Trance / Progressive

The final stage of the retrospective. With its 14 tracks, Exhibition V connected the dots and brought the worlds of prog and trance together in one shiny package. Containing tracks and remixes from ManMachine, Ovnimoon, Barraka and more, this album combined new tracks with freshly baked remixes for your pleasure.

Starting with ManMachine's remix of Late Reflections by Bernie Allen and then morphing into Stage One, in the form of Guy J's remix, Exhibition V makes a strong start. The strong start continues into the later tracks as Barraka's Song To The Siren gets revisited by Jaap Ligthaart. Mindwave, Sonic Entity, Taucher and Hazem Beltagui join the ride, as do Neptune Project whose Third Eye Remix of Blind Visions provides the penultimate track with Activa's fresh look at the Dream Universe by CM being the climax.

The fifth Exhibition was followed by Exhibition 6 which included tracks and remixes from Peter Steele, 3 Access And You, Audio Noir and more. It was the perfect follow-up; further bridging the gap between trance, progressive and psy. Number 6 marked the end of the project. For now. But it is only a matter before the box is reopened and Exhibition 7 sees the light of day.

Back to Exhibition V and on the surface, and underneath, the compilation is a snapshot of where EL-EL were and where they eventually went; with further enhancements being added. As a spectacle, it is an epic release. Plus the cover art is magnificent.
