More: “Final Zoo!” we said. “This is it.” We said. “This one and that’s your lot.” We said.

And we meant it at the time.
Five years on and the scene has changed a lot. DJs have retired, come out of retirement and retired again. Parties long thought finished have had reunions. And venues all over the country have shut down. Never to host a party again.
Since we stopped Zoology, our home, the famous Club 414, has been threatened with closure from property developers who think Brixton needs more flats and another retail unit and the fight to save the 414 continues.
The Zoology team aren’t known for being legal eagles or smacking it to the man. What we are, or were, known for is throwing amazing parties. So we’re going to do it again.

November 12th 2016 will be Zoology’s 15th Birthday and we’re going to throw, at the risk of sounding arrogant, the biggest party the 414 has seen this year!

So, in case you’ve only joined the scene recently you may have no idea who or What Zoology are.
Well we’re an award winning multi genre party that rocked the 414 for 10 years, was supported by the major music press and a party that brought DJs to the 414 that people never expected. Like Altern 8, DJ Wag and Man With No Name. A party that encouraged DJs to play outside their usual style with Hard House DJs playing Techno sets, Trance DJs playing Dubstep and House DJs playing Psy Trance! As well as booking big names Zoology also looked out for the best up and coming talent around and the best in established talent. Backed up with one of the finest, most versatile set of residents around.

With a formula like that, we’d be made to change anything.
Our special guest for our 15th Birthday is a Guinness World Record Holder and one of the true pioneers of the scene. Billy Nasty!
Billy Nasty has never been just a DJ, he has enjoyed an extensive recording career and runs two record labels highly-regarded by a broad range of DJs and record buyers alike. With a career spanning over 25 years, Billy continues to travel the world as one of the most in-demand DJs, lighting up dancefloors at some of the most prestigious events and infamous clubs across the globe.

From early beginnings playing rare groove and funk to his first forays into acid house during his residency at London’s The Brain Club, to regular slots at seminal London clubs such as Final Frontier, Open All Hours, The Drum Club and Strutt, to having played pretty much every Festival and club worth mentioning ever since, Billy continues to DJ the world over whilst also maintaining a residency with esteemed electronic pioneers BLOC.
On top of his DJing, Billy Nasty has also maintained a strong production presence over the years. Earlier more progressive outings included Shi-Take (with Dave Wesson) or Vinyl Blair (with Chemical Brothers engineer Steve Dub) to his studio collaborations with Gregor Tresher and Anthony Rother on Datapunk, culminating in his current partnership with Keith Tenniswood (aka Radioactive) man as RadioNasty.
In 2013 Billy relaunched his legendary techno and electro imprints, Tortured and Electrix, to critical acclaim. The debut release on Tortured was the RadioNasty ‘Breakin Bad EP’, featuring two stunning Ben Sims remixes as well as two original tracks.
As RadioNasty the pair have unleashed several tracks over the last two years for labels such as Craig Richard’s The Nothing Special and EPM including the (relaunched) Tortured debut release 'Breakin Bad' EP and the 'Clave to the Rhythm' EP on Electrix. The guys were last seen disappearing into the studio bunker, planning the next slew of releases and collaborations, set to emerge over the coming years.

Billy will be playing an upfront 90 minute set of the finest Techno... All on vinyl as well!

Blimey… Not bad hey.

We also continue our policy of booking new DJs and established talent… Both these DJs could fall under either bracket (which makes no sense whatsoever). First up we have Craig Fowler… In little over a year he has played at some of London’s most respected Trance and Psy Trance parties. He’ll finish the night with some energetic Psy Trance… At least we think he will, he may decide to surprise us all.
Our next guest is a relative newcomer but has also quickly climbed up the Trance ladder. He is Will Renville and he’ll be playing… Dance Music.
As mentioned we had a fine set of residents over the years and our numbers grew over the years. It’s impossible to get everyone back but we’ve picked some of our favourites.
Markus Buhmann and Matt Dahl rightly earned the reputation as London’s finest Warm Up DJs with their well thought out and progressive sets that started our parties. They’ll be starting things for us on the 12th and we await another warm up master class.
Another returning resident is Adam Symbiosis. Adam started out running our Zoo2 after party but was quickly promoted to the night event because of his energy and enthusiasm. Something he has put to good use since as part of the amazing Lost Dawn promotions team.
Finally you have the Zoologists. Latex Zebra, RedCaT and B.S.E… Whether they’ll play solo sets, B2B2B or maybe both will be a complete surprise… Likely to them as well.

Zoology is back.
