» 12 Inch Dance : 90s Remix

Label: Warner Music / Rhino
Format: CD
Genre: Dance

Its very rare that I review stuff that I've bought cos, ya know, things like this are always subjective but this one is quite interesting. The ninth instalment in the 12 Inch Dance series of albums houses 30 full length tracks and remixes from the halcyon days of dance music.

Interesting about these CDs is they often bring together rare remixes and this one is no different. In fact, it starts with an unreleased remix that was previously only available as a white label: the David Morales remix of Simply Red - Something Got Me Started from 1991. Elsewhere, you have Deee-Lite with "Power Of Love", Sasha's full edit of D:Ream and the epic Diversion of Orbital - Impact.

As a spectacle, I'm quite impressed with this volume as it brings together some tracks that I hadn't heard for ages, some I have on mixed CDs, but to have them unmixed is a tasty bonus. Most intriguingly, Perfecto appear three times: Grace, New Order and Opus III all receive the Perfecto treatment.

I like it. More of the same please! Oh, and could we have the Perfecto mix of D:Ream and Sure Is Pure's colossus of We Are Family next please? Wink
