Completely disagree.
Happy Gilmore
Wedding Singer
are all good movies.
I also like 50 First Dates
Watched Sucker Punch on Friday. While I liked the idea of it, it did drone a tiny bit in places. The ending wasn't quite what I thought it would be, and it's a bit dark in places.
7/10
Plus V for Vendetta, but was drunk and fell asleep.
Last night watched RED again - still excellent, also 8/10.

Both Sucker Punch and Red are terrible. I'd say you were drunk the whole weekend if you liked either of them

I was definitely drunk on Friday night - but only after Sucker Punch. It was fine for what it was. And I can see why the guys think it's so great (hot chicks in minimal clothing shooting s**t up). And it had a bit of surrealism in it n- real life plus manga type stuff.
Also - I Bruce.

War of the Worlds (again)
I enjoy it on a certain level but it just makes me more angry each time I watch it. Entertaining but a massive opportunity missed in favour of Spielbergian ego.
Compliance
Apparently based on true events, some guy pretending to be a cop calls a fast food restaurant and 'rapes' one of the girls there in hoax call douchbagery.
I had high hope for this after seeing the trailer some months ago and then listening to Kermode's review last friday, with people apparently walking out of the cinema in droves due to the level of discomfort they had watching it. NO! They walked out of the cinema because its BULLSHIT!!!! Its an interesting premise but it falls over straight away because the protagonists are so fucking retarded. There is no way this could have gone as far as it did without one of them stopping and saying "erm... HANG ON!!!" and yet it did, several times across the US apparently. Instead of ratcheting up the tension as the movie progresses, it just becomes more ridiculous and is made even more so by the cast playing it all so straight. Even the director gives a nod to the audience that the whole thing is bollocks, either as an apology or in agreement - I couldn't tell which, when one of the cops says "This happened more than once? You gotta be fucking kidding me!", but telling your audience that you're in on the joke doesn't excuse it.
Nice performances and a very cute pair of tits will not stop you constantly screaming at the screen for everyone to stop being such a dick.
