I honestly didn't know what to expect. I went in and thought WOW! they really have spent money on the scenery. It comes out off the stage into the audience.
They also have some really good effects which enhance the production. I thought that when it first started it was a bit slow, however once the action started going I really liked it.
You arrive around 7:25 for a 7:30 show, and all the hobits are in the audience catching fireflies, it gets you more into the mood of the show!
The downside I found is that there are no really catchy songs in the show. However they really do love using bass. I had A row tickets and just to the side so I had loads of leg room, and the floor was vibrating like mad when the action scene were taking place.
There's one interval after the first act, then a brief break of about 5 minutes between act 2 and 3.
I think its still worth going to see even tho the songs aren't catchy.
If your looking for a comedy show, I highly recommend 'The Drowsy Chaperone' staring Elaine Paige (altho she's not the lead role)
Cheers buddy. Thanks for that synopsis.
Still trying to get my head around singing hobbits though...
Shh! We're hiding. Be quiet everyone. That includes me. Shh! Who's making that noise? Oh, it's me again...

no problems! got the program in the bedroom if u want any more info.
Fortunately singing hobbits wont stick in ur mind, the songs aren't that rememberable. Its more about the stage work and effects. The instrumental music is quite good tho...

Wicked! Seriously thanks. I've been in two minds about this, but am now looking forward to it! Just need to book tickets now. Worth being close to the front you reckon??

I always get front of stalls, I'm going to see this show again but from the first row of the grand circle. I think the effects will be quite good from there. The stage rises quite a bit throughout the show...
