I was digging and found this from Gordon Brown which outlines what I was saying about EU modus operandi, he calls it a "game changer":

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-politics-41935901/gordon-brown-warns-of-brexit-crisis-point

And he's right about crossing red lines, whatever deal we get will do that by definition.

Which makes the whole point of brexit a bit redundant.

I think that's what some people are hoping, negotiations will be unproductive and the EU will come up with a new deal which MPs will put to another referendum.

Considering how things are going that doesn't sound so bad.

A lot will depend on how things are looking in the EU generally, key players like Spain and Germany are weakened by internal politics, Hungary and Poland are a cause for concern.

Reuniting the EU would give Europe some stability, but there would need to be compromises on all sides.

Shocked You mean the Russians don't have our best interests at heart?

I hear they even had a blonde clown riding around in a bus saying Britain sends £350 million a week which we could better use to fund the NHS.

Hungary is a devout Catholic nation, they categorically don't tolerate anything other than their own culture.

Hungary is not a cause for concern, they just want to protect their heritage / culture and given the fact they've been fucked over so many times historically I don't blame them, their pride in their culture is part of the reason I love the country so much.
