I still have my hearing, but also tinnitus. It does seem you are a bit confused about the nature of the affliction.
You said you used to have it, but it was cured thanks to those magical burning candles stuffed into your ears. :
Hey, what can I say, I used to have an annoying noise in my ears. After hopi it had gone. It doesn't bother me that it happened yet you seem hell bent on bringing it up everytime, so you seem to have a problem, and not just with tinnitus.
Go figure

What another thread where a serious/helpful topic got lost because of people making retarded jokes. Great thanks. Also, how the hell is an earplug going to help alleviate severe tinnitus? It just means I can hear nothing else.
the earplug will prevent it from getting worse when your in loud environments like being in a club all night it stops the screaming buzzing noise. Obviously if you wear them in an environment that wasn't loud them of course all you will hear is your tinnitus.
For me the professional musician ear plugs are amazing I can't do without them. they still keep the clarity just turn down the volume. I dj with them, wouldn't play a set in a club without them
