Is it possible to transfer warp file data to a new sound file. I want to replace the mp3 I nicked off the net with a wav that I'll rip off a shiny CD BUT keep the warping info.

Any ideas?

Ta.

At a guess I would say if you replace the file with new ripped one it may work. Probably better to re-warp though.

I'm still learning... but unfortunately my PC's a bit underpowered and needs an upgrade before I can do much with it...

No - a warp file for a WAV is different to one for an MP3. You will have to warp again.

Upcoming sets:
- 4-hour set at Groovalicious @ Ministry of Sound - April
- Psychedelic Academy 004 @ Brixton Academy - 6th May

i think could be the piece of kit for me, really enjoying messing around with it at the moment. Its pretty user firendly. Still not worked out much with it though, but going through some online tutorials. But finding the ableton community pretty helpful and youtube a massive massive help. Lots of great tutorials about warping on there.

Only problem i've got is most my dance music is just WMA files so need to convert them before i can get them warped, which is right pain.

yeah i can see myself having lots of fun with it and its basically going to meet the requirements i want. At the moment i cant work out how to do what i want, but looking through it i can see it offers everything i'm going to need and more really.

one thing i would say compared to djing with decks it really is something completely different to that. totally different types of skills and both will produce different results.
