Bank holiday Sunday August 30th sees us return to That Club in Greenwich the scene of our huge opening party in May. After the disappointing sound at the opening (using the House system as opposed to our usual one) we have a new quadraphonic Nexo system in place that should ensure greatly improved sound. For what is one of the biggest parties of the year we have a line up befitting of such an occasion.
Headlining we have none other than Steve Bug (Poker Flat). The bug through his stable of labels that include Poker Flat, Dessous and limited series like “Traffic Signs” has proved himself to be constantly at the forefront of House and Techno. His new album “Collaboratory” has just been released with him working alongside the likes of Cassy amongst others. In able support we have West Coast House legend Doc Martin.
Doc is without doubt one of the most important figures in underground House over the last 15 years. Making his mark in the 90's playing his warm, hypnotic, dubby sound that touched on Disco, Funk, Tribal and Acid at clubs such as Fabric, Back to Basics, Faith and Cream; and producing for the likes of Shaboom and of course his own Sub Level imprint. He actually played in the Loft at 93 Feet East for secretsundaze in 2003 our second year so its great to welcome him back 6 years later! He is very much a DJs DJ and is known for his unrelenting quest and passion for music.
Last up we have Canadian born Guillaume and The Coutu Dumonts - Live (Oslo / Circus Company). Guillaume has had a string of great releases over the last few years all characterised by his trademark live percussion. Both Giles and James have included tracks by him in their respective mixes on secretsundaze Volume 2 last year and his live sets are always greatly anticipated.
Inside our compadre's Cosmic Truth and Late Night Audio (Danny Clark and Toby Tobias) take up the Disco reign's through the dark hours in Room 2. It all looks set to be another great day and night time session and we are really looking forward to be back on that fantastic terrace.
