By stop start I mean that I find very little fluency in League.
A guy gets tackled, play pretty much stops while they faff around on the floor and set up for the next phase of play.
In union play continues with the ball on the ground, yes, it can take an eternity at times (but not necessarily) and there is the tactical setup while that's happening, it's a more fluid game than the stop/start phases of League.
I'm sure advocates of the sport don't see it that way, but that's the way I see it.
^^ Bear - that's pretty much nailed it. Thanks, Staggo.
Eh? You guys must be watching a different type of league to the one I watch.

...explains union better than league in my eyes.

If you timed how long in a game was spent in tackles and scrums (ie the stop part of the game)...I reckon I could guarantee you there would be more time doing that in union than league

Not in my eyes and from my experience.
What happens after every single tackle in a league game?
Whereas in union a number of things can happen - ball is picked up by another player, turnover, ruck formed, maul formed if held up. I find there's more general fluency. Yes there can be pauses while scrums etc are set up, but it's not after every single tackle.
Anyway - this is without doubt the crappest 6 Nations thread there's ever been - there's more fucking cricket talk than rugby and now the person that started it is saying it's a shit game because it stops and starts too much. LOL.

I never said it was a shit game. I enjoy union probably just as much as I enjoy league. It's just the 'stop-start' comment about league I have an issue with as its entirely incorrect.

In conclusion, rugby league has better flow than rugby union and they are both as interesting as bowls, in the eyes of those working in telly.

Finally!
No, you fuckwit - because it stops and starts after every tackle whereas union has longer periods of continual play in my view.
I'm not fucking arguing with someone whose only experience of one sport is that they "watched a few minutes the other day" and whose experience of the other is being Northern.

Sorry Staggo but I think this might be relevant
