She was banging on about Uber last night, firstly it's not her brief and secondly when she as challenged about specific points she just did that shit wobbly-voiced prevarication thing. I suspect she's going to get torn to pieces at conference next week.

Damned if you do (May); damned if you don't (Brown)
Her decision to call the election was correct, she should have walked it and returned triumphant with a vastly increased majority.
But they dropped the ball with their manifesto - its ludicrous policies were bound to alienate people (pensions, hunting), and alienate their own supporters (winter fuel payments, covering the cost of social care).
Labour didn't know an election was coming and given how shambolic they were at the time, I doubt their manifesto was anything more than a few ideas scrawled on the back of a fag packet. But they managed to pull off a masterclass in the use of social networking.
I presume this speech was intended to smooth things for May at the conference but I doubt there's anything she could have said which would help.

Labour in general and McDonnell in particular were saying for saying for 2-3 months before the election they didn't believe her when she said that she wouldn't call an election at conference last year and were planning for her to call one, turns out they were right to, but the fact that the Tories weren't making plans along that line anyhow is a serious case of laxness.

Interesting, they weren't as prepared as I thought (yest they were still a bit of a shambles and at war with themselves) but the fact they even had a snap election guide in circulation before the election was called suggests someone was paying a bit of attention. It will be interesting to see what happens with a party pulling more in one direction (if they still are) by the time the next election comes around
Latex Zebra Yeah, something is probably happening somewhere.
