And I mean good HDR photos, not over-processed obvious HDR photos. HDR as it was meant to be. But I am going through an album I shot up in Alaska over the summer on some nice sunny days. For a lot of them I shot 3 bracketed photos, with +2 and -2 exposure on either end. And as I go through them I am starting to notice that I really can't tell the difference between the merged HDR photos and the one that was shot at the 'correct' exposure' with the highlights and shadows tweaked properly in Lightroom. Honestly, for most of them, just relying on Lightroom's 'auto develop' settings gets them pretty damn close to perfect, no HDR needed. Have camera's dynamic range combined with advances in post processing software kind of removed the need for HDR in all but the most extreme situations now?
