No film they ever make will be as good as the book. FACT.

Technically opinion, but you are probably right in that the book will be better even though it was written by Steven King.
I read it when I was about 12. I avoided drains for about a year. And balloons. Then I read Twilight Zone and had bigger things to worry about. Then Cujo while owning a rottweiler. I really fucked myself up with Stephen King.
He's actually writing some pretty enjoyable stuff again now. For a while, possibly after literally (fnarr) being hit by a truck, the books were fairly good but the endings were sanitised bullshit. More so than usual. I actually went off him for a while.

I've always loved his earlier stuff and count at least 3 of his books in my top 10.
Later stuff, as ceeks rightly said were pretty good up until the ending but he has found his mojo again in recent years.
IT was a exceptional book, written by an author at the top of his game. I've read it 3 or 4 times now and enjoy it as much as the first time with each reading.
Interested to see what they do with this film, as I was saying to ceeks the other day, the original movie with Tim Curry as Penywise was great up until the crappy spider-esque creature at the end.
Also looking forward to seeing The Dark Tower when that is done.
Staggo, Ceekay and everyone else.....lets keep my retardedness our little secret yeah?

Never start a sentence with 'and', and it's Movie.
It's a quote from the book. It's also perfectly acceptable to start a sentence with "and" - it amuses me that you are actually questioning a guy who has been writing books for about 50 years
