there are some good parties on from time to time, but on the whole it's not best.
used to be awesome years ago - i remember one really underground party in canvey island that was always rammed full of people from london - they travelled out of the capital for it. quality parties though.
there is a bar/club in romford called enigma, where i play for slipmatt once a month for "slip back in time" - an old skool thing.
also, in walthamstow there is a new place called 'rs lounge' (some people say it's essex, some say london). it's a gorgeous place and i play there every saturday, so it's proper club music there.
I've heard good things about "slip back in time", I didn't realize it was monthly.
I should check it out really, got a link please?
Trippin Back (88-91) The original sound of rave with Acid House legend Trevor Fung.
Sunday May 4th at The Royal Hotel, Southend.
Zero has shut now, was a wicked venue back in the day but it was a bit out in the sticks and hasn't survived the clubbing slump.
Apart from the occasional rave in North Essex there is not much else goes on in Essex apart from what we put on at the royal. It never used to be that way, there used to be loads of good nights all over the place. There are a few small things happening in Chelmsford that are excellent, if you know where to look.
There are, but they are few and far between, small and in bars, but good parties do occasionly happen in Chelmsford.
