Giving up booze in January because's quiet and easy. Makes it a fucking mockery then. Jump out of a plane for charity. Climb a mountain. Do something that is hard.

If you're really serious about giving something up then you just do it. This testing out is bollocks. You just stop and succeed or stop and fail.
Detoxing is a load of shit as well. The body is more than capable of sorting itself out after excesses. Just having a few days off is enough to repair the damage. Not drinking kale juice and staying off the beer for a month.

There's no harm in giving the body a total break. For me, I just haven't felt.like drinking since 23rd due to feeling so ill. Not sure how long it'll last but right now, I'm feeling very well. Even my usual restless nights are getting better.

Karma is a beautiful thing.

Of course there is no harm. But people saying "I'm on a detox." It's a load of bollocks.

You're very disciplined.

The Yorkshire beer is going down a treat. But it's this obsession that Yorkshire has with karaoke! WTF. It's everywhere. I worked all weekend and went for a pint after finishing on Sunday. Walked in the pub to be faced with an elderly woman singing a country and western song. I fucking can't stand karaoke.

I do realise though how spoilt I was living down south. Everything is could have ever wanted, musically, was there just a tube ride away. I should have made more of it really.

So think on, you folk who still live down south. Go and enjoy it, you're very lucky.

And Lou, more work shall be done on 'it' this weekend. It's going to be bigger and brighter than originally planned. I'll send pics.

Right, work time. Laters.

Well done hon. Can't wait to see it. Thumbs up

Karaoke used to be big here, now it's mainly in Chinatown thank god!
Some mates wanted to go there on a night out-I'm outta here!!
Yes, it can be funny esp.when you're half shot otherwise it's so painful!
Can't stand hard house hon. It's still techno that does it for me. Razz

Karma is a beautiful thing.

Why? A mate has given up wheat, dairy, drink, caffeine etc to detox but also to find out what if anything her body doesn't agree with.

Karma is a beautiful thing.

Why? Because detoxing is a myth. If you're really interested a quick google of detoxing is a myth will give you loads of information on why it's bollocks.
Changing your diet is not detoxing.

Your body will "detox" the minute you stop putting crap into it.
It doesn't require the addition of supplements. Stop drinking for a few days and your liver and kidneys will thank you for it.
Not drinking for a few days should be within everyone's abilities so it's not a detox... It's just normal life. It's the way our bodies deal with crap.
Detox diets are a load of shit because they talk about cleansing you when your body is doing it anyway.
Sure, avoiding carbs and sugar for a while is good for the body but it is not a detox.

I agree with you on restless nights, I definitely get a better night sleep after not drinking for a few days and feel much brighter in the morning.

I agree that cutting out alcohol, carbs, sugar and other crap, eating a balanced diet and exercising will provide an overall benefit, there are definitely supplements you can take to enhance the process.

Milk thistle, for example, helps the liver, and more generally, antioxidants are also good. I don't know the details, that's Her Maj's department but she's pretty strict on what she'll recommend we take.
