I agree that cutting out alcohol, carbs, sugar and other crap, eating a balanced diet and exercising will provide an overall benefit, there are definitely supplements you can take to enhance the process.

Milk thistle, for example, helps the liver, and more generally, antioxidants are also good. I don't know the details, that's Her Maj's department but she's pretty strict on what she'll recommend we take.

I've taken milk thistle before. I do pop many vits as my diet is mainly veggie & there's no harm esp with water soluble vitamins B & C as the excess is flashed out daily. My diet is fairly healthy. Never ate much wheat but since mum's diagnosis with coeliac, I've cut down even more. I think I'd die if I had a lactose intolerance. I adore cheese too much. Heartbeat Don't have a sweet tooth so sugar has never been an issue.

Karma is a beautiful thing.

Why? Because detoxing is a myth. If you're really interested a quick google of detoxing is a myth will give you loads of information on why it's bollocks.
Changing your diet is not detoxing.

Perhaps you should try unclenching rather than detoxing. Razz

If you eat a lot of vegetables you'll probably get enough vitamin c anyway, although as you say, it isn't stored so there's no risk taking too much.

One thing to check is the quality of the supplements you're taking and how they are delivered. From memory you're looking for "food state", these will be more expensive than the standard supermarket or Holland and Barrett offerings, but are far more beneficial.

I'm partial to cheese but it's very fattening and dairy isn't very good for you, IIRC it's linked to breast cancer.

Life

I'm on a health flex. Not because it January but because I was in hospital last week for an extreme cluster migraine. Lasted 8 days and worst experience I have felt since having a punctured lung. So scary

Im alos getting really fat so cutting out red meat, making smaller portions and doing dys a week veggie only. Its nothing to do with the bullshit of January Detox, its about health and a better quality of life. I have never been healthy in my adult life so want to experience what its like. Also going back to the gym which will be good. Im excessive in whatever I do so really hope I can do it with being healthy.

Fucking 'Dry January" does my head in, sme as Stoptober, Veganuary (thats the worst fo the lot) do it because you want to know because its the popular thing to do that month.

Yep, there are supplements that can help various parts of you. But the whole detox diet thing. Still nonsense.

I'm looking into the Keto diet. It's pretty much what I eat anyway.
It's not to lose weight, it's more about just having a healthy lifestyle.
