Insurgence comes back with a bang for 2009!!!
February 20th see's our return to our new home Volks.
This time we have three giants of the scene joining us:

Pickup & Rise:
2007 saw the creation of a hard working, formidable but fun new b2b duo: Matt Pickup & Andy Rise have been friends for years and first DJ’ed together in 2003, but they made things official (no, they didn’t tie the knot!) in 2007 and DJ’ed together most weekends. 88 Sets, over 100 hours of music in 35 venues across 19 towns and cities in 3 countries to be precise.

Production-wise 2007 also saw them make waves on big labels like Deprivation, Nosebleed, Breed & Oktane and they have more releases lined up for the forthcoming months.

When you go to see the boys expect a pinch of high paced NRG with some tasty bootlegs and mashups with a side order of scratching, served up with lots of bouncing around and interaction with the crowd!

They are also well known for their groovy warm up sets and have a reputation for being down to earth and tongue-in-cheek and never failing to entertain.

With joint residencies for superclub Frantic and smaller night Summit as well as their separate residencies the boys have already made their happy, smiley mark across the hard dance scene. They also hold regular slots at famous afterclubs Shine and Twist.

Notable gigs so far include Sundissential’s 11th birthday, Tidy Extreme Euphoria, Storm, Polysexual and Timeless, but the one that really rocked was playing main room at Tidy Weekender 14 earlier this year!

They have also launched their own labels – “Hard Up Digital” and “Hard Up Funk”, claiming the much sought for Christmas Number 1 slot on Tidy Digital with one of their releases (better than Mr Blobby!)

So far in 2008 they have seen the year in in style by playing Frantic NYE, been signed to UDJs and mixed the new Frantic Residents Album. With all this as well as being booked to play huge venues like Koko in London and more intimate gigs like Hi Oktane in Leeds, they’re definitely working hard.

2008 is without doubt their year, as main room debuts at Polysexual, The End, and the most famous club in the world, Ministry of Sound, confirm what many have thought for a long time – these boys are going places, and having a lot of fun in the process.

Iain Cross:
Iain Cross's sound has evolved over the years into a unique blend of hard and heavy beats with spine tingling, arm raising trance breaks. This sound is so unique it sets him apart from so many of his peers and has seen his strong fan base grow into a huge following of clubbers that have followed Iain all over theSouthwest.

Since his humbling beginning as a DJ eleven years ago, Iain has acquired residencies for two of the leading brands of trance and techno, Atmosphere and Resonate. He's been booked for massive events all over the UK such as HTID, Raverbaby, Digital Circus, Hindsight, and Exotic as well as headlining for a multitude of more local nights, and has began taking Europe by storm playing at events such as QLUBTEMPO 16 @ Q-Dance - Holland with crowds of over 4500 people and Maximum Trance @ Club IK (Holland). Thus ensuring his booking schedule is full all year round. Being booked for such prestigious events has seen his name on the same line up as a galaxy of stars including: - S.H.O.K.K. - Andreas Kramer & Thomas Pogadl - The Trance Generators - A.S.Y.S - DJ Jo & Tom-X - DJ Passion - Mat Sliver & Tony Burt - Mark .E.G - M-Zone - K90 - Pablo Gargano - The Producer - John Turelove ( the man behind Candi Staton's, You Got The Love) - Chris & Aaron Liberator - Andrea Montorsi - Danna - Lab 4 - Fastfloor - DJ Frantic - Jon Doe - DJ Wag - Organ Donors - Uberdruck & Dj The Crow - Hellraser - Dj Slideout - Tommy Pulse - Kutski to name a few.

Iain Cross is a man who lives, breathes and dreams music, he has applied himself to many aspects of the industry. He was the promotion's manager and weekly resident for the legendary Country Club from 1998 to 2002 when the Country club sadly closed. "A dream dies but a legend lives on". Iain gained valuable experience as a director and label manager of High Fish Recordings, which was founded in 1999 by himself, Dave Spinout and Jon the Baptist, primarily to release their own music productions, but also as a promotional outlet for all their work within the industry. Moving onto pastures new he left High Fish, and joined the family at Bare Cheek Recordings in 2004. Not content with music being his passion, hobby, part time employment Iain wanted to make it his full time employment. So in 2001 he joined his friend and fellow DJ, Meri as assistant manager of the Chunes record shop, one of the longest running independent record shops in the South West. Here he stayed applying his talents until 2006.

Over the decade that Iain's been involved with the Music Industry, he's also turned his hand to journalism and radio play. For over 2 years he reviewed trance tracks due to be release for TTR Magazine. His articles were published weekly in the magazine sent out by a distribution company all over the UK. Iain is the creator of Maximum Radio. A show that once a month rocks the hard dance channel of the 'Digitally Imported' internet radio station. The show has blossomed under his watchful eye and boasts a roster which includes Tommy Pulse (Stealth Industries), Organ Donors (Nukleuz), Wavetraxx (Drizzly), DJ Spoke (Progressive State), DJ Choose (F&W) and Max Savietto (Mazeman) to a fan base of over 700 people.

Production is one area that this young man excel's, he is a hugely respected producer. Iain's sets show - cases many of his unreleased tracks, one - off edits and sneaky "Cross" retakes which he works on in his well established studio. He also has 14 stomping collaboration's under his belt which have been released on a number of the scenes leading labels including our own, Bare Cheek Recordings, Italian label Future Sound Corporation, De Novo Records, and High Fish Recordings.
