Another fine year of underground parties at Leeds’ Mint Club
will draw to a close this NYE, but what a close it will be as
Cadenza man Lee van Dowski and Wagon Repair head honcho
Matthew Jonson (Live) lead the party proceedings.
Canadian Matthew Jonson is set to perform live has he has
done with much success as part of minimal improve band
Cobblestone Jazz in recent years. Having his name on epic
cuts like ‘Marionette’ ensure he is one of the most in-demand
artists of recent times, so expect nothing but the sweetest
house and techno from him.
Also on hand to unite the clued-up System disciples will be Lee
van Dowski – a man who works closely with Cadenza in terms
of production, but also a man who also took part in Luciano’s
live audio-visual experimental band, Aether, during the summer
of this year.
Mint was once again nominated in DJ Mag’s ‘Best Small Club
Awards 2009’ and it’s not least in part owing to the perfectly
engineered Funktion One sound system which offers bass
boom and sonic clarity like few others in the country.
Couple that with the minimal aesthetics and super-hot LED
disco panel which floats above the dance floor and you’ve the
makings for a really quite special party... A rare NYE treat
amongst a slew of over commercial bookings elsewhere, we’re
sure you’ll agree.
