Label: Abora Skies
Format: Digital
Genre: Trance / Symphonic
Symphonic music isn't that uncommon. I mean, you've got classical music and you've even got symphonics appearing in heavy metal music e.g. Epica, Dimmu Borgir and Finnish band Nightwish. But did you know that its also been creeping into trance? Indeed, trance is a great avenue for it as the genre is pretty close to classical music anyway. Sort of.
With that in mind, this is New World's new single on Abora Skies, Abora's sub-imprint. There are three mixes here; the Original, the Emotional Intro mix and a special orchestral mix. Powerful beats encompass the Original Mix and an uplifting vibe appears fairly early on. This is music to give you a lift, a mood-changer. Essentially, this is classical-trance. Its not quite out-and-out classical but its damn close.
The Intro Mix adds a more symphonic opening to things; cinematic and serene with nice piano work and a violin coming in as well. So its a real journey of sounds. Mind you, its not long before the beats kick in and everything feels more...full here. The intro definitely adds more of a full experience as opposed to the intro-less original.
The Orchestral mix is a beatless mix and has been designed expressly for chill-out sets or for home listening. Its also the shortest mix on here, running at nearly five minutes, but what you get is a nicely crafted symphonic soundscape that wouldn't be out of place in a major Hollywood movie or tourist board commercial. Think Ireland or Scotland or even Wales and you wouldn't be too far off.
This is fairly well done. I prefer the Original Mix but the Intro mix pushes it fairly close. Take your pick.
