June Trance Chart

(artist/title/mix/label)

(1.) Sly One vs Jurrane: ‘Second Summer’ (original mix/Sly One vs Jurrane Dark mix) – Discover Digital

We’ve finally finished the follow-up to Time Bomb and it’s been signed to Discover. The original’s an uplifting trancer that we hope will be great for the summer and we’ve also put together a tougher tech mix to suit a wider variety of floors. Promos should be on their way shortly.

(2.) Nitrous Oxide: ‘Red Moon Slide’ (original mix) - Anjunabeats
Every once in a while, a melodic trance track comes along and takes your breath away. This is one of those for me. Beautifully-produced, with bags of energy and a euphoric melody that you’ll be humming for days, this will undoubtably be one of the tracks of the summer for me. Wonderful stuff.

(3.) Dan Stone pres. Aruba Flow: ‘Watchful Eye’ (Sly One vs Jurrane remix) – Conspiracy
Released on Jon O’Bir’s excellent Conspiracy label last month, our remix of Dan Stone’s latest has been getting plenty of support. Stay tuned for upcoming remixes on Propulsion and Perceptive: these are busy times for us at the moment.

(4.) Masters & Nickson: ‘Out There’ (Daniel Kandi remix) – Soundpiercing
I never liked the vocal the first time round although the dub (5th Dimension) ranks as one of my favourite tracks of all time. Props to Daniel Kandi, not only for shoehorning the vocal into a guise that really works but also for turning in a fantastic remix of a timeless classic. Very nicely done.

(5.) AJ Hutch feat. Jonas Hornblad: ‘Small World’ (Ben Gold remix) – Nu-Depth
Ben Gold turns in by far his best remix since his rework of Everlast a couple of years ago. Here. he transforms the debut effort from newcomer AJ Hutch into a stunning pumping trancer, making great use of that lovely piano melody. Well worth checking out.

(6.) Keenan & Anderson feat. Tiff Lacey: ‘Runaway’ (Mike Nichol vocal mix) – Navigation
Australian producer Mike Nichol’s been turning plenty of heads over the past year or so with a range of quality productions. This one’s up there with the best: a superb remix of this anthemic vocal trancer, showcasing the chorus to great effect.

(7.) Simon Bostock: ‘Vertical’ (AB Project remix) – DJSA
I’m liking both mixes of Simon Bostock’s debut original track but it’s the AB Project remix which just shades it for me. Powerful, pumping trance just the way I like it, with another of those melodies that’ll be in your head for ages. I’m really looking forward to hearing more from Simon.

(8.) Congress: ’40 Miles’ (John O’Callaghan bootleg) – All Around The World
This cheeky tech bootleg has been a staple of JOC’s sets for ages but now finally sees a release courtesy of AATW. Driving tech-trance is the order of the day here, all set up around that instantly recognisable piano riff.

(9.) Datt & Bissen: ‘Take Your Time’ (Martin Roth remix) – Flux Delux
Flux have released what seems like dozens of remixes of this classy vocal trancer but it’s the Martin Roth remix which tops the lot for me. Roth’s one of the most consistent producers in the business and everything he turns his hand to is quality. Superbly produced electronic music.

(10.) Jon O’Bir: ‘Ways & Means’ (Neal Scarborough remix) – Vandit
A nice uplifting trancer from Jon O’Bir, released on Vandit last month. Neal Scarborough turns in the standout mix, upping the energy levels and showcasing some great synth programming. I’m expecting the various mixes of this to be amongst the biggest uplifting trance tracks of the year.

AJ Hutch is a mate of mine! Top bloke. Haven't heard the remix yet though.

Will have to check out some of the above as I haven't done any music shopping for nearly 2 months!
