» Breath, Reimagined Vol.3

Reviewed by Pete M / Submitted 17-10-20 11:48

Label: Dreaming Awake Records
Format: Digital
Genre: Progressive / House

The Breath story comes to an epic conclusion with the third volume of Breath Reimagined, three remix albums dedicated to the original album released on their own Desert Trax imprint. This episode of the Reimagined saga takes in remixes from Speaking In Tongues, Dance Spirit, Djuna Soundsystem and more across its 10 tracks; moving between house, progressive and world music with relative ease.

Whether this album is heavier than volumes 1 & 2 remains to be seen but it tries its very best and succeeds on many occasions. My fave mix on here is the Griffin Paisley mix of To Be The Air which is as atmospheric as the original. Other standouts are the Djuma Soundsystem mix of Closed Eyes In A Dust Storm and the 10 minute remix of Longing For Home. Strangely, Praise Her, The Fire Keeper isn't on here, despite appearing twice on Volume 1. I had hoped to have had a new mix on here but it wasn't to be.

Breath Reimagined Vol.3 is a...good addition to the Desert Dwellers franchise and will fit very nicely with Breath itself and Reimagined Volumes 1 and 2.
