Happy Mondays To Perform London Live Date At Special FAC 51 The Hacienda Event 18 October 2014

Reported by News Editor / Submitted 14-10-14 10:42

Happy Mondays are to headline a trio of FAC 51 The Hacienda events in Blackburn, Manchester and London in mid October where the band perform their full live show in a rare club setting along with a soundtrack provided by many of The Hacienda’s finest DJ’s.

With The Mondays having recently played many major festivals over the summer, the gigs see the band in a much more low key environment as they perform for the club where they first started out at a “Battle Of The Bands” concert in 1985 before signing to Factory Records and releasing four seminal albums with the label.

With The Mondays looking to mix up their best known material, album tracks and rarities from their extensive back catalogue, fans can look forward to a wide ranging set delivered by the original line up who have been touring to great reviews and reactions since they first came back together around two years ago.

For the run of dates, FAC 51 has put together a strong collection of its very best DJ’s to accompany the Mondays including Chicago House pioneer, Marshall Jefferson, Graeme Park, Jon Dasilva, Peter Hook, Allister Whitehead and Herbie Saccani whilst The Stereo MC’s also play live at the Manchester event.|

First up sees The Hacienda return to Blackburn for their first event in the town since 1991 when FAC 51 held a “Hacienda Blackburn” residency at local club, Manhattan Heights as the impressive King George’s Hall hosts the tour on Friday 10th October.

With the town known as the birthplace of the legendary Northern warehouse party scene in the late Eighties and early Nineties, Blackburn has consistently supported The Hacienda and the relationship between two is long standing so a great atmosphere to open up the shows is expected.

On the second night, The Hacienda comes back for its much anticipated second event at The Albert Hall Manchester, after the sold out New Years Eve party at the turn of the year. Fast becoming one of Manchester’s very best club and live music venues, The Albert Hall is a Grade II listed Wesleyan chapel hidden in Manchester City Centre, re-opened for the Manchester International Festival as an arts venue.

The upstairs grand chapel of The Albert Hall has been restored into a one of the most atmospheric music venues in the country surrounded by the original stained glass windows and with it being a hometown concert for The Mondays and The Hac, plans are to follow on from the well received New Years Eve party there which saw in 2014.

The final date of the run sees The Mondays and FAC 51 back in the capital with a London party on Saturday 18th October The Forum in Kentish Town, London, Saturday 18th October where The Mondays and The Hacienda round off the tour.

Tickets for all three events go on sale Friday 8th August 2014 at 9am.

An exclusive early bird pre-sale for The Albert Hall, Manchester date is being handled by Skiddle.com with tickets priced at £25 available from 9am Wednesday 6th August until 9am Friday 8th August when the tickets will go on general sale. A limited number of VIP tickets are also available for The Albert Hall date.
