HarderFaster DJs >> VoodooBass
Music Style:...deep, funk-tinged breakbeats and tough 4/4...
From:born in Cairo, Egypt, I grew up in Exeter, Devon and am currently based in London.
Date of birth:30 January
Residencies:NORQ!
Management Agency:NORQ! DJs
Bookings Contact:to book me or any of the NORQ! residents, call me on +44 (0)7837 578901 or email voodoobass@gmail.com

No. of records:Vinyl - in the hundreds
CD's & Digital - in the thousands
Started playing:I first started playing music for people in venues back in the mid to late 90s, dropping punk, ska, indie and metal n a rock club. After moving to London, I quickly got hooked on the electronic scene, and started mixing in late 2001.
All time top 3 tunes:aaargh... I could maybe do a top 20, but three's nowhere near enough!
Website:New NORQ! website coming very soon!
Sample set:the majority of sets I play are based on a mixture of broken and 4/4 beats, from funky breaks through electro-tinged, tribal and tech flavours, working up to full-on tear-out tracks, all underpinned with the biggest basslines I can find. I make sure the tunes I play have plenty of guts and bollocks, but like to keep a set accessible with reworkings and bootlegs of classic anthems from across all genres.

I can also play 'bar' sets consisting of broken beat, nu-jazz, deep house and liquid D&B if required.
Worst DJing moment:equipment failure or inebriated people falling onto decks never fails to put a damper on things...
Would most like to play:cities in hot countries near beaches
Most enjoyable set you've played:the first ever NORQ! was pretty special!
When you're not DJing you're:sleeping, eating, learning production techniques, cooking.
Favourite Venue:La Terazza, Paloma and Liquid in Barcelona have to be the amongst the nicest clubs I've been to so far, and in London, you can't fault Fabric, Turnmills and The End are at the top of the game. However, I do love unofficial and underground party-zones as well!
Favourite Promotion:Anything with a solid music policy and a friendly, up for it crowd
Favourite Producer:Roxiller (Chris Carter & JHz), Merka, John B, Autobots, Aquasky
Favourite Label:Fingerlickin', Shadow Breaks, Y4K, Hardcore Beats, Whole Nine Yards, Trouble on Vinyl, Intercom, Moving Shadow, Hospital, to name just a few....
Biggest Influence:Herbie Hancock. The guy's amazing!
Drink:Toilet Duck/Domestos
Non-music pastime:I don't really have one. Even when I sleep, I dream of music in some way, shape or form
Words of wisdom:Do not put off until tomorrow that which you can avoid altogether.
Other Comments:The devil made me do it.
