Q&A with Aly & Fila to mark the release of their landmark album 'The Other Shore'. Out on Armada Music now! Reported by trance_man / Submitted 13-11-14 16:13 In the wake of Aly & Fila's landmark album 'The Other Shore' being released on Armada Music, we had a quick chat with the Egyptian duo... If you weren’t doing music, what would you be doing? That's a good question, possibly working for my father (Fila), maybe working in advertising (Aly). What has the response been like to ‘The Other Shore’? The response has been really overwhelming, we are really happy with the final product, thanks for the support. What can’t you live without? Our families, pets and friends. Where can we see Aly & Fila playing next? Escape From Wonderland festival in California. What sports are you into? Football and tennis. What’s your favourite way to relax? With our families and a good movie or TV series. How do you cope with constantly travelling the globe? It's always challenging, it's a big part of our work so we have learnt to adjust and adapt. Has anybody done remixes of your tunes that you are particularly fond of? Mark Sherry's remix of 'Brilliant People' and Photographer remix of 'Laily' are really great recent ones. There are so many though it's hard to pinpoint an exact favourite. What’s next on the agenda for Aly & Fila? We are planning our 2015 release schedule, we have several singles over the next twelve months. We have also begun to plan FSOE400 for next summer and we are very excited. There is a lot to come in 2015! What is your advice for young producers and DJs? Work hard, believe in the sound you love, and listen to advice around you.
